"Another underrated player is the enthusiastic occasional player.The guy who has very little cricketing skill - can't bowl at all and is really only good at blocking an end up when batting, but he'll chase everything in the field saving countless runs in the process, and is likely to take the occasional useful catch.

"But best of all, he's keen - and remains keen even when the opposition are 220-2 and more experienced heads are going down.He's the one who'll chase the ball to the boundary to turn a four into a three, and he'll also be the one cracking jokes in the changing room to keep everyone's spirits up.

"Players like that are worth their weight in gold."
