PitchVision makes an impact in India
The Sri Lankan Test squad were happy to break from practice at the Mumbai Cricket Association's (MCA) BKC indoor academy to make way for a demonstration of PitchVision to over 30 influential coaches.
The technology uses sensor mats to provide instant performance feedback to players such as bowling speed and accuracy. It was tested by Mumbai Under-19 and Under-22 squad players, logging over 200 balls in a live demonstration. After the presentation all the coaches voluntarily stayed behind to ask questions.
Such was the excitement about the innovative product that the Times of India reported on the story, calling the chance of the MCA adopting PitchVision as "a foregone conclusion".
Academy Director and former Indian wicketkeeper Chandrakant Pandit said "The technology helps review actions of cricketers within a second of completing it and is very helpful in correcting flaws. It also records at what speed the ball left the bat and whether the ball was catchable or no"
PitchVision sensors and software are priced to be attractive to club players, juniors, independent coaches, schools and sports centres and are available worldwide.
