CRICKET JOBS: Accounts Payable and Finance Assistant - MCC (UK)

Marylebone Cricket Club (“MCC”) is the world’s most active cricket club, custodian of the laws of cricket and is also the owner of Lord’s Ground, affectionately known as the ‘Home of Cricket’. Lord’s is renowned worldwide for staging international cricket matches with up to 30,000 spectators in attendance each day. With an annual income of around £50m MCC has over 250 employees, supported by an additional 1,200 casual workers during international matches.
MCC is part way through a £25m project to rebuild the Warner Stand as part of a larger £250m masterplan to redevelop the facilities at Lord’s.
An opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Payable and Finance Assistant to join the core Financial Accounting team on a fixed term contract for six months within the Finance Department.
Required skills and experience
The successful candidate will be able to work logically, accurately and with attention to detail and have prior experience of working in a Financial Accounting environment. An ability to demonstrate honesty and reliability when handling cash and a capacity to be able to work with large volumes of data are essential.
Understanding of basic accounting concepts is vital as is intermediate excel skills and ideally demonstrable experience of working with MS Dynamics (Great Plains) accounting system.
The candidate needs to be happy working within a team environment and be able to problem solve and resolve issues in a calm and professional manner.
