Job Description
Swindon Cricket Club is seeking the services of a Youth Head Coach for the 2017 season.
The club has 4 Saturday senior teams, a Sunday senior team and junior sides at Under 9s, 11s, 13s and 15s as well as a girls’ cricket section. The facilities include large cricket pavilion, a square with 23 wickets, 3 lane artificial practice nets, roll on net, bowling machines plus a commitment to provide all other equipment deemed necessary.
Swindon CC are looking to appoint a highly qualified and experienced cricket coach to take a lead role in the future development and success of our thriving youth set up, implement plans for the current and future growth of the youth section and help prepare the players for a seamless transition into adult cricket in the future.
The clubs Youth Head Coach would be expected to:
- Hold a UKCC 2/UKCC 3 coaching qualification or equivalent
- Be a member of the ECBCA
- Hold a current and valid DBS or undergo a DBS check
- Hold a current 1st aid qualification
- Have excellent communication skills, provide leadership, well-organised and be extremely motivated to make an outstanding impact on the club
- Hold a UK/EU passport OR provide evidence of eligibility to work in the UK, satisfying all ECB / Home Office requirements under Tier 2 / Tier 5 visa system
In conjunction with the cricket club’s youth cricket sub-committee:
- Help design and implement the clubs junior development program.
- Mentor all other junior coaches and helpers.
- Attendance and assistance at all junior coaching sessions.
- Help manage / run at least one junior age group team competing in league and cup cricket.
- Offer 1-2-1 coaching / development program for selected individuals.
- Work alongside the senior coach to allow smooth transition from the junior section into the senior section.
- Create a positive and enjoyable playing environment
- Lead a positive cricket culture of continual improvement and commitment
