CRICKET JOBS: Head Coach - England Womens, ECB (UK)

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a world class England Women’s cricket team which delivers sustained success in all conditions and formats. A team which inspires current and future generations of players and supporters with their performance and behaviours, on and off the pitch;
The England Women’s Head Coach will report to the Director of England Women’s Cricket, and will have overall responsibility for the performance and management of the England Women’s team in all forms of the game;
The England Women’s Head Coach will lead a team of specialist coaches and support staff and will be responsible for defining their roles, their performance and their ongoing development;
The England Women’s Head Coach will develop a world leading, high performance programme that sets new standards for women’s professional team sport in this country.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Candidates will be qualified to a minimum of ECB Level 3 (or its international equivalent) and will have coached at first-class/international level in the men’s and/or women’s game to be considered for this position;
Candidates must be able to point to a track record of coaching and leadership success at first-class/international level achieved over an extended period of time.
KEY SKILLS
The successful candidate will be an accomplished strategist with clear and ambitious plans for how they will develop and build success for England Women’s cricket moving forward. They will need to demonstrate that they can create and sustain a winning culture and a world leading team;
The England Women’s Head Coach will be an outstanding communicator and people manager. Their focus will be on managing a competitive, highly skilled and self-reliant England Women’s team and an elite performance environment that demands exceptional standards of professionalism;
It will be the role of the England Women’s Head Coach to ensure that there is a structure in place that ensures that all players are developed as cricketers and individuals. The successful candidate will need to provide confidence that they can develop and improve the existing talent technically and tactically, whilst identifying and integrating new talent into a team culture that is both challenging and supportive;
The England Women’s Head Coach will need to demonstrate organisational and tactical strengths and will be responsible for setting out and executing short, medium and long term plans for the development of the England Women’s cricket team. Central to these will be the ability to manage the playing and coaching resources at their disposal to the greatest effect;
The England Women’s Head Coach must be able to demonstrate an innovative approach and commitment to being at the cutting edge of the latest developments in cricket and elite coaching;
The England Women’s Head Coach will be keen to foster strong working relationships across key departments within the ECB, including coach development and sport science and medicine to ensure that England Women’s cricket becomes synonymous with best practice in all areas of the game. Critical to this will be building a close working relationship with the team of staff at the National Cricket Performance Centre at Loughborough;
The England Women’s Head Coach will develop effective working relationships with those coaching in the women’s County game and with the coaches working in the Women’s Cricket Super League.
THE ROLE
This will be for a fixed term contract of a three year period. This role will involve a high degree of travel both nationally and internationally.
