CRICKET JOBS: Tournament Admin Executive - ECB (UK)

1. Purpose of the Role:
To provide full administrative support, including handling of confidential matters for the Managing Director of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 and in all areas of his responsibilities.
2. Facts and Figures:
- Approximately 80 ECB headquarters staff
- A Local Organising Team of 4 at present building to c45 by mid-2016

3. Principal Responsibilities:
- Communicating with people at all levels of the organisation, particularly ECB CEO, Committee members, FCC Chief Executives, ICC, overseas boards, ECB Leadership Team and staff, sponsors and Government offices and contacts
- Preparing minutes of meetings and correspondence for the MD and team
- Arranging meetings and co-ordinating the diary of the MD
- Arranging hotel, flight, train and taxi bookings, including visa applications where required
- Drafting reports for ICC and ECB Board and Executive Committee meetings, in liaison with the MD and the wider local organising team
- Proof-reading and quality-checking documents, reports and e-mails produced by the MD
- Working and collaborating with colleagues at the ICC, ECB and local organising committee
- Preparing regular reports/updates/analyses for the various departments of the tournament
- Working with the ICC and ECB accounts team to ensure timely payment of invoices and monitoring of budgets
- Co-ordinating fortnightly team meetings, and other internal meetings
- Preparing a yearly schedule of match commitments and departmental activities
- Keeping files up-to-date and ensure filing system is functional, both electronic and physical
- Any other duties required by the MD
4. Nature and Scope of Job
A. Role Context:
The TAE works closely with the MD who is responsible for the day-to-day management and running of the three global tournaments held in the UK, namely the ICC Champions Trophy 2017, the ICC Women’s CWC 2017 and the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

5. Person Specification:
- Administration experience at director level
- Previous exposure and experience working in sport would be beneficial
- Supportive, loyal, trustworthy and able to handle responsibility/confidential matters
- Excellent telephone manner and communicator – especially with the public/media - being tactful/diplomatic and welcoming
- Excellent hosting skills with VIP guests and all stakeholders
- Excellent organisational skills, able to prioritise, work on own initiative, work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong written and proof-reading skills, with a strong eye for detail
- A team player, willing to support the MD and also the wider team whenever required
- A willingness to take on ad hoc projects whenever required
- Good working knowledge of MS Office applications including PowerPoint
- Prepared to work weekends during international season and long hours during tournament delivery
- Understanding of cricket would be advantageous but not essential
