    Summer internship opportunities to gain vital communications experience
    Based in Jolimont -  MCG Precinct

Cricket Victoria is one of Australia's leading sporting organisations with the responsibility of developing and overseeing cricket throughout the state to underpin growth and participation and contribute to the success of the Victorian and Australian cricket teams. From grassroots cricket to the elite teams - the Victorian Bushrangers, VicSpirit, Melbourne Stars and Melbourne Renegades - we nurture and promote the development and success of the sport for all Victorians.

We are currently seeking innovative and driven Communications Interns to work across the Cricket Victoria Group of brands from November 2015 to April 2016, including the Melbourne Renegades, Melbourne Stars, Victorian Bushrangers, VicSpirit, Premier Cricket and other cricket competitions throughout Victoria. These exciting roles will be expected to be available for two to three days per week, including weekend and after hours work over the busy summer period.

The internship is suited to a current or recently graduated university student, preferably with a Journalism, Public Relations or Communications background with a passion and understanding for sport – especially cricket.

This exciting role offers hands-on experience working a flexible 2-3 days per week and at events and match days as required.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:  Production of online content, social media duties, interview preparation material, e-newsletters and collateral, press conferences, media monitoring, photography and assisting with match day media relations and administrative duties.

The intern/s will be based predominately in Jolimont and a variety of venues including the MCG, Etihad Stadium and Junction Oval. This is an unpaid position.

Additionally:

•     You have a background in Journalism, PR or Communications as well as a sound knowledge of social media.
•     You will be available to work flexible hours in season including throughout the Christmas/New Year period.
•     You are someone who is willing to live and breathe cricket over the summer and make the most of the opportunity.

To be successful in this role you will be a second or third year tertiary student studying Journalism, Communications or Media, with an internship requirement as part of the course.

There are six placements available within the team ranging from November 2015 to the end of March 2016.
