Closing date: undisclosed
Title: Spectator and Fan Services Coordinator - Australia (part-time)
Function: Venue Operations
Country: Australia
Location: Melbourne
Job Description
The ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 (CWC 2015) is cricket’s premier flagship event, which will be jointly hosted by Australia and New Zealand across 14 cities over seven weeks in February and March 2015. Fourteen countries spanning one fifth of the world’s population will compete for it. Over one billion people will view it via broadcast, with an expected one million fans to attend the matches.
To ensure the CWC 2015 sets a world class benchmark in sporting event delivery across the two nations, we have built a Local Organising Committee (LOC) with offices in Melbourne (Australia), and Wellington (New Zealand). We now have an incredible part-time opportunity for someone to join our Melbourne Office to support the planning, coordination and delivery of Spectator and Fan Services (SFS) across our Venue Precincts in each of our seven CWC 2015 Host Cities. Spectator and Fan Services is a large and highly visible part of our Workforce and is critical to ensuring the overall success of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015!
The role will support the Spectator and Fan Services team (based in Wellington) and act as the central planning coordinator in Australia, with deliverables during the planning phase including:
Coordinating program requirements and Operating Plans ensuring suitable service levels
Developing deployment plans, post descriptions, shift strategies and schedules with relevant stakeholders for each Australian Venue Precinct and nominated Australian Venues
Liaise and integrate with key internal Program Areas to coordinate the SFS specific operations, including staffing, technical and equipment requirements
Support and develop the Spectator and Fan Services Australian specific content for Training, and facilitate and delivery training across the seven Host Cities
During the tournament this role will take on a coordination and oversight role of the implementation of Spectator and Fan Services across seven venue precincts and may be assigned a leadership role for a specific venue or venue precinct/s.
To be considered for this role we are looking for strong experience in planning and operational delivery at a major event and/or in a venue environment with a spectator and fan services focus, with excellent knowledge of “front of house” venue operations. You should have proven experience implementing comprehensive, workable operational policies and processes, which include liaising with a variety of stakeholders within venues, local councils and community groups.
This role requires exceptional organisation skills and the ability to juggle conflicting priorities under pressure. This is the only SFS role within Australia, working closely with our team in New Zealand, so the ability to build successful working relationships but able to work independently with minimal supervision is imperative.
This role is a fixed term contract to start immediately until 31 March 2015. To apply, please submit your Cover Letter and Resume in one document via the online portal www.cricketwordlcup.com/careers. Please note we are considering applications as they come in (as this role is for an immediate start), so please submit your application in the first instance.
