Queensland Cricket is responding to the increasing popularity of cricket by placing greater emphasis on its Game Development activities. Game Development is responsible for promoting and developing the game amongst the younger generation, as well as across both genders and within Australia's indigenous and multicultural communities.
Market Development Officer - Sunshine Coast and Moreton
As part of this greater commitment to "growing Australia's favourite sport", Queensland Cricket is seeking outstanding candidates for a Market Development Officer opportunity. Passion, commitment and drive to get kids physically active is important to Queensland Cricket, with the successful candidate required to have facilitated school activity programs previously. The main portion of the role will see you deliver and facilitate MILO in2CRICKET and MILO T20 Blast programs in schools across the Sunshine Coast and Moreton areas.
Reporting to a Regional Development Manager, the Market Development Officer will also be responsible for promoting cricket across our diverse community with a view to maximising participation and delivering a fun experience for children within the Sunshine Coast and Moreton geographical area.
Particular responsibilities will include:
- Engage school children in fun and exciting activities, whilst providing a cricket pathway for both boys and girls.
- Promote, deliver and facilitate entry level cricket programs to schools.
- Leverage the profile of the Big Bash League and the Brisbane Heat as a strategy for maximising participation in schools and clubs.
- Leverage the relationship with local schools and clubs to promote the game of cricket.
- Provide leadership and management for both paid and unpaid deliverers of schools programs such as MILO in2CRICKET and MILO T20 Blast School Cup.
Apart from an unquestioned passion for, and knowledge of, sport the successful candidate must have experience with sporting networks and other stakeholder groups including schools and volunteers. They will also need sound communications skills including the verbal skills necessary to engage and manage key stakeholder relationships as well as the presence, maturity and energy to motivate both paid and unpaid resources involved in the game. An affinity with Australia's diverse and multicultural community will be essential. This role is primarily based at the Queensland Cricket office in Sunshine Coast Stadium, Bokarina.
