CRICKET JOBS: Intelligence Manager - ECB (UK)

The successful applicant will be required to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of intelligence systems and information handling processes. They will be required to provide regular security and crime focused intelligence briefings from a range of sources up to and during the events. Previous experience of working with security providers is essential and an understanding of national event crime trends is desired. Security clearance to a minimum of SC level is also essential.
Role Context / Organisation Structure
The England & Wales Cricket Board is hosting the ICC Champions Trophy and the Women’s World Cup in June and July of 2017.
The ICC CT 2017 is an elite 50 over cricket event for the top eight one day international nations in the MRF ICC ODI Rankings. The tournament has been staged previously in Bangladesh (1998), Kenya (2000), Sri Lanka (2002), England (2004), India (2006), South Africa (2009) and England (2013).
The ICC Women’s World Cup 2017 is the pinnacle of the Women’s 50 over game and will have the top eight one day international nations, as reflected in the MRF ICC ODI rankings, competing to lift the coveted World Cup on 23 July 2017 at Lord’s cricket ground in London.
Both events are a great opportunity to showcase cricket at its absolute best and a fantastic opportunity for the England & Wales Cricket Board to put on an amazing event on behalf of the ICC. It’s a really exciting time to be involved in the sport of cricket and a great opportunity for the right person to build on their skills in international events.
The CT fixtures will be played at The Oval in London, Edgbaston in Birmingham and Cardiff in South Wales. The WWC will be played at Bristol, Somerset, Leicester and Derby with the Final at Lord’s in London.
Key Working Relationships
- The successful applicant will be expected to work alongside the following:
- The Ticketing and Accreditation teams
- The ECB Anti-Corruption Unit
- The relevant venues hosting the events
- The National Police lead for the sport of cricket
- The National Police Events Intelligence Unit
- The National Counter Terrorism Unit
- The ICC Security team.
- Team Liaison / Security Officers
Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- To develop and maintain a national source of information and intelligence for the sport of cricket.
- To provide a bespoke intelligence product for the 2017 tournaments which will extend to venue, team and sponsor specific issues.
- To provide regular event specific intelligence and information briefings for the director of tournament safety and security.
- To liaise with all key stakeholders to ensure that information and intelligence is shared promptly and effectively.
Person Specification
- Experienced in handling information and intelligence.
- Previous experience of working with stakeholders at major events.
- Highly motivated.
- Must have recognised qualification in relevant field ie R.I.T.E.S.
- Must have experience using i2 iBase / Analyst Notebook.
