Just outside Melbourne the Murrumbeena Cricket club was formed in 1910 and has a long and proud history.  The club offers a very welcoming and family orientated environment and is centrally based at Murrumbeena Park in Murrumbeena and offers excellent training and playing facilities.

The club currently field 4 senior turf teams in the VTCA.  The club has a vibrant Junior Program with over 200 kids participating - 12 junior under age teams in the SDCCL (including an All Girls team), T20 blast teams and a healthy Milo in2Cricket program.  Murrumbeena was awarded the SDCCL Junior Club of the Year in 2014.

In season 2014/15 Our First XI achieved 10 wins and participated in the VTCA finals.  For several years there has been sustained success in our junior teams and a talented group of older juniors are now transitioning to senior cricket.  With this improvement, the club is seeking a committed leader who can take the club to further success as a leading community cricket club in the area.

We are seeking to appoint a Head Coach for the 2015/16 season, preferably as a playing Captain Coach but not essential.  If you are looking for a fresh challenge, want to join a club with a proud history with exceptional potential this opportunity could suit you.

The club is keen to invest in the right candidate and remuneration will be negotiable based on the successful applicant’s experience and credentials and commitment given.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Create and implement a training plan for organised, group pre-season and regular in-season training nights
• Conduct pre-season and in season senior training
• Set and drive high standards for on-field performance
• Mentor senior players and promote their development, particularly the young and emerging players, through technical and personal development
• Match day planning & strategy for the First XI
• Member of the selection committee
• Liaise with and support junior coaches in a mentoring capacity
• Long term direction of the playing future of the club
• Attend club functions

Skills & Experience Preferred

• Passionate about the game of cricket
• Playing and or coaching experience at a high level
• Coaching accreditation credentials (preferred)
• Proven track record developing batting, bowling and fielding techniques with players
• Experience working with younger players
• Proven leadership skills with open and engaging communication style
• Ability to nurture players to get the very best out of their ability
• Developing a winning culture through continuous improvement and direction
• Willingness to be an integral part of the fabric of the club during tenure
