The Afghanistan Cricket Board was established in 2001. It is an independent and specialized organization in the field of Cricket and act as leading organization for cricket. It works for the development of cricket and players in the country and organize different formats of opportunities aiming to improve cricket and support players.

JOB SUMMARY
Scope of Work
The Head Coach is a competent and qualified sporting professional who is responsible to the Afghanistan Cricket Board for the delivery of high quality, international standard coaching with the aim of improving performance and results of the AfghanNational Cricket Team with an over-riding emphasis on quality at all levels.
The Head Coachworks in close collaboration with senior management of the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB). He will be a member of the selection committee and is the leader of the coaching team. He has overall responsibility for the implementation of coaching activities and the development of the Afghan National Cricket Team.
The Head Coach has an important role in supporting the development of coordinated and developed general coaching programs in Afghanistan in cooperation with ACB senior management.
The Head Coach will attend international, national and regional tournaments and related camps with the National Team in so far as security allows.
The Head Coach will familiarize himself with, and support, the “ACB 5 Year Strategic Plan” and its implementation as well as working in compliance with ACB general guidelines and policies. He will conduct the role in accordance with ICC, ACC and ACB rules and regulations. He will follow the guidelines of the ACB Human Resource Management Policy and the Code of Conduct contained therein.
It is presumed that the Head Coach will spend a significant amount of time living and working with the National Team inside Afghanistan. The details of this arrangement will be worked out from time to time between the coach and senior management of the ACB.

Reporting
- The Head Coach reports to the ACB Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and through him to the ACB Chairman. He will maintain regular and open communication with them and will provide:
- Formal written monthly reports on activities, developments, important issues and problems.
- Formal written reports on player performance, fitness and appraisals as required in the player’s employment contract.
- Formal written reports for major camps, matches, tournaments and activities.
Collaborating
- The National Team Coach will collaborate closely with:
- The Board and its Chairman, the CEO, senior management and selection committee(s).
- Other Coaches in working to develop the skills of the national teams.
- Senior management in developing ACB proposals, work plans and other master plans.
Supervising
- The National Team Coach supervises assistant coaches, other training assistants as well as having an advisory role in the planning of the development and training of domestic coaches.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Minimum ICC Level 3 Coaching Qualification
- Demonstrable success as a cricket coach at Domestic and/or International level
- Experience of coaching in professional cricket
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience within professional cricket or 1st class cricket counties
- Ability to motivate and influence professional cricketers, coaches and teams
- Resilience and energy to operate in a challenging and high profile working environment
- Proven ability to operate with professionalism and integrity in challenging situations
- Exceptional planning, co-ordination and organisational skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- High level interpersonal, written, and verbal communication and influencing skills
- Strong disciplinary skills
Desirable
- ICC Level 4 Coaching Qualification
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience of leading a high performance programme in professional cricket
- First Class playing experience
- Sports Science and Medicine professional qualification
- Self-contained operator with good computer/IT literacy
