The Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA) is the governing body of cricket in the state of Western Australia, home to WA’s elite teams, the Warriors and the Western Fury, and the T20 Big Bash League’s Perth Scorchers. It oversees the development of the game across a variety of metro and regional areas, age groups and communities. The WACA’s vision is to be the leader across national team representation, elite team success, participation, engagement and fan experience.
We are currently seeking an energetic and enthusiastic person to take on the full time role of Game Development Officer for the metropolitan Western Suburbs.
The key responsibility of this role is to pursue opportunities to ensure the continuing participation and development of cricket in WA.
The successful applicant will be implementing various programs such as the in2CRICKET program, facilitating participation through the T20 Blast School Cups and delivering various school programs.
The Game Development Officer will be determining coach education needs for community and initiating cricket training programs for school teachers. This role also involves the liaison with district and community clubs and Community Boards to facilitate club input into participation of competitions of males and females at community level. The Game Development Officer will also help drive the strategic plan in conjunction with key stakeholders as part of the Western Suburbs Community Cricket board.
It is essential that the successful applicant will have the ability to enthuse children about cricket and obtain support from volunteers regarding the delivery of cricket. You will have highly developed interpersonal skills, demonstrated relationship building abilities and a valid Working with Children Check.
We are looking for someone who has initiative, has had exposure to implementing successful sporting programs and who is passionate about increasing participation of sport. A sales, teaching or marketing background will be considered favourably. Both males and female applicants are encouraged to apply.
