CRICKET JOBS: Marketing Manager, Domestic Cricket - ECB (UK)

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is responsible for the health of cricket in these countries. A vibrant domestic game is vital to the sport’s continued growth.

We are looking for an experienced marketing manager to work with key commercial partners and the 18 first class counties, as well as our broadcast partners.  The purpose of this role is to deliver insight-led marketing for the domestic game (Men’s and Women’s) which will grow awareness of and interest in our competitions among millions of fans.  These competitions include the NatWest T20 Blast, The Royal London One Day Cup, the LV County Championship and the launch in 2016 of the Women’s Super League.

The successful candidate will join the Commercial Department, reporting to the Head of Marketing.
The role involves working with numerous stakeholders within the ECB, including the Professional Game department, our Digital and Communications teams.
 
This role requires knowledge of cricket and experience of insight-led marketing.
 
Roles and responsibilities
 
Grow awareness of and affinity towards our assets

  •     Adopt a customer-first, insight-led approach
  •     Demonstrate planning, measurement, communication and collaboration
  •     Champion our customer segmentation and marketing campaigns
  •     Align brand positioning and identify synergies and opportunities across partners


Deliver the Annual Marketing Plan

  •     Media Planning, Content planning and PR
  •     Work closely with the Digital team to deliver a “destination for cricket” at ecb.co.uk
  •     Work with the Communications team to prioritise and ensure consistency of messaging
  •     Lead agencies to develop creative assets and media plans
  •     Understand Commercial Partners’ and counties’ customers and strategy,  dovetailing activity across the season
  •     Agree the Right Measurement to ensure effective activity – e.g. tracking measures
  •     Manage the annual budget and the agency review process


Person specification
 
Essential

  •     Over 5 years demonstrable experience in sports, event or consumers brands
  •     Strong understanding of cricket
  •     Experience of working with agency and digital teams, broadcast or production
  •     university-level or equivalent qualification
  •     experience of developing and delivering multi-channel marketing plans
  •     ability to build and manage multiple stakeholder relationships
  •     confident in building relationships with senior management
