CRICKET JOBS: Director of Cricket - Ealing CC (UK) *PREMIUM ADVERT*
Closing date: undisclosed
Ealing CC, a leading Middlesex Premier League Club, is looking to appoint a Director of Cricket who will be responsible for the day to day running of Senior and Junior Cricket at the Club. The successful candidate will need to build upon the foundations that are in place and continue to grow and improve cricket at the Club. A critical element of the job will to maintain the link between the Junior and Senior sections of the Club, ensuring Colts are being developed and integrated into Senior cricket.
As a focal point of the Club, applicants need to have good social, organisational, man management and coaching skills. Although not necessary, some entrepreneurial and business skills would also be of added benefit. The successful candidate will ideally have played first class or minor counties cricket and it would be preferable, albeit not essential, if they were available to play Senior Cricket on Saturdays.
ABOUT EALING CC
The Club has 7 Senior Men’s teams playing League cricket on Saturday and a Women’s team to be entered in 2016 in the North London Women’s Cricket League and the Middlesex Women’s Cricket Championship. The Club plays in the Middlesex Premier League, having won it for 7 years 2005 to 2011 but not since. The Club is active in National Cup competitions, winning the National T20 Cup in 2011 and 2015 and reaching the final of the National Club Championship in 2010 and 2014. The Club also enters the Middlesex Development League (basically an U21 competition) and the U19 National competition. At the Junior level, the Club has around 400 Colts, including nearly 100 Girls, ranging from 6 to 17 years of age. The Boys Colts play in Middlesex Colts Association (MCA) Leagues at U10, U11 (x 2 teams), U13 (x 3 teams), U15 (x 2 teams) and U17 and also play friendly matches at U8 and U9. The Girls play in the MCA Seaxe League at U11, U13 and U15. The Club has been awarded the Victor Ludorum trophy as the most successful Colts Club in Middlesex in 4 of the last 5 years. The Club runs Academies for Senior Boys, Junior Boys and Girls to assist the development of the most talented players. The Club’s playing facilities include 2 grounds, with a third ground coming on stream in 2016.
At our main Corfton Road ground, we have a large square with 20 wickets, 5 lanes of artificial practice nets, two bowling machines plus a commitment to provide all other equipment deemed necessary. We also have a smaller ground in Hanwell (formerly Hanwell Cricket Club) with a 9 wicket square, but no nets. And we expect to be able to use a new ground, Popesfield, in Ealing in 2016.
