CRICKET JOBS: Development Leader, Sixes Metro Region - Cricket NSW (Aus)
Based in Moore Park, Sydney this full time role has four direct reports and reports to the General Manager, Game Development. The Game Development Department is responsible for growing cricket participation and inspiring the next generation of players and fans. The successful candidate will be required to engage a diverse group of stakeholders to raise the profile of the game in the Sydney Sixers Metropolitan Region.
Role Responsibilities
- Inspire, influence and encourage employees, clubs and associations to adopt appropriate formats, recruitment initiatives, facility strategies and internal operating methods to grow cricket
- Establish your team as the primary contacts for cricket matters in the applicable regions, ensure key local stakeholders receive a high level of support
- Manage employees to meet and exceed their school cricket targets
- Manage employees to recruit and retain as many cricketers: female/male/CALD/indigenous/all abilities as possible in your club network
- Manage employees in the up-skilling of cricket volunteers in the MILO in2CRICKET and MILO T20 Blast programs
- Develop a strategic plan for the growth of club cricket in the region
- Collaborate with the GD Leadership Group to develop a strategic plan to deliver best practice programs, activities and facilities in your region
- Support the promotion of Sydney Sixers throughout your region and support the delivery of match day activities at Sydney Sixers games
Experience & Qualifications Required
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in sports administration/sporting industry
- Excellent management skills that enable staff to achieve and exceed their goals
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with an ability to motivate, positively influence and build strong stakeholder relationships
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of Cricket Australia & Cricket NSW programs and pathways, including MILO in2CRICKET & MILO T20 Blast
- Comprehensive knowledge of community participation in sport, including volunteer management
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team with the flexibility to interact with a wide range of employees and volunteers
- Working with Children Check
