The post will support the Participation Team in planning, organising and monitoring of a co-ordinated program of high quality, professional cricket activities that support the creation of a cricketing culture within the county.
Principal Accountabilities:
Responsibilities of the Cricket Development Coach include but are not limited to the following:
- Delivering school curricular & extracurricular cricket activities and coaching
- Organising and delivering school competitions and festivals
- Supporting the delivery of district & development coaching and match programmes
- Inclusive activities
- Key point of contact for clubs and schools within the region
- Planning and timetabling the Chance to Shine programme
- School / club links and partnerships support
- Club Development – Clubmark Assessments etc
- Player Pathway Coaching
- To manage and organise club activity (where required)
Knowledge, Skills, Attitude and Experience:
- Minimum qualification of UKCC Level 2 Cricket Coach, or equivalent
- Relevant experience in delivering cricket coaching in schools and clubs
- Able to work effectively on own initiative, well organised and punctual
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong IT and administrative skills
- Good team player with a flexible approach
- Own transport and a full UK driving licence
- An understanding of cricket in Worcestershire would be desirable
Conditions of employment:
- 35 hours per week (flexible including evenings and occasional weekends throughout the year)
- Salary will depend on experience (plus expenses)
- 1 year fixed term initially with an option to extend for a further 1 year term
- The positions will be regionally based within the county and will report to the Participation Cricket Development Officer
- The appointment is subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (formally known as CRB) check
