Marylebone Cricket Club (the Club) is the world’s most active cricket club, custodian of the laws of cricket and the owner of Lord’s Ground, affectionately known as the ‘Home of Cricket’. Lord’s Ground is renowned worldwide for staging international cricket matches with up to 28,500 spectators in attendance and is also is an exceptional venue with a wealth of experience in delivering high quality hospitality, corporate and private events.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to provide high quality administrative and secretarial support to the Club’s Assistant Secretary (Commercial) and his Heads of Departments. Key duties include the preparation and distribution of papers for MCC Committee and Board meetings. Taking accurate minutes in senior and sometimes complex meetings is also a vital part of this role, as well as drafting, proofreading and editing correspondence and reports. Other key duties include the systematic maintenance and filing of all documentation.
The role will also include managing busy diary commitments and making travel and accommodation arrangements as well as assisting with ad-hoc administrative duties as required.
Required skills and experience
The ideal candidate will be highly competent, experienced and organised with proven experience in a similar role, ideally as a PA to an Executive Director. Strong written English and proofreading skills are essential as he or she will be assisting with the preparation of board level reports and documentation.
With strong attention to detail, the ideal candidate will demonstrate robust communication, presentation and interpersonal skills along with experience of audio typing/minute taking to a high standard. In addition, strong IT skills, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint are essential, along with the ability to prioritise and organise workloads and work to tight deadlines.
Significant flexibility is required for attendance on Major Match Days and working extended hours, including weekends, as required. An interest in cricket is helpful but is not a prerequisite.
