CRICKET JOBS: Team Analyst Internships, 2 Positions - Sussex CCC (UK)

Sussex County Cricket Club Team Analyst 2015 - 12 months (Interviews in November/ December 2014)
Applicant: We are looking to for two students who have a passion for cricket and who wish to become an integral part of one of the most successful, first class county cricket clubs. The students will have excellent IT skills and be able to demonstrate a wide-ranging basis of skills in the area of analysis.
Please note that the undergraduate students must be looking for a work placement as part of a sandwich degree.
Positions 1 & 2: Should have a keen interest in research and analysis and be passionate about sport (preferably cricket)
Main duties:
- To assist in the operation and maintenance of the Club’s “Feedback” video notational, analytical system To assist with specific analytical projects, as requested by Pro Cricket or Cricket Performance Managers, both statistical data-based and video-based
- To assist in the capturing and collating of footage for a video library, from both on ground and TV broadcast, for analytical and new media purposes To assist in the operation of new media -based projects To assist in the set-up and operation of the video notational, analytical system at all 1st Xl matches
- To research and analyse prospective opposition teams and players, providing Pro Cricket staff with relevant information To develop and maintain a cricket DVD and digital library for analytical and new media purposes To gather and provide statistical and video footage for the Academy, youth squads and player development areas of the business
- To assist players and coaches in the development and maintenance of the Club’s “DartFish” TV site

Person Specification:
Qualifications
- Currently studying a sports-focused degree. This work placement would be offered to a student as part of a sandwich degree
Skills and Knowledge
- A versatile and wide-ranging base of skills and techniques in the area of analysis Excellent IT skills Knowledge and experience of cricket

- A team player who can motivate and inspire others to achieve excellence Sound independent judgement Ability to organise and prioritise work A professional attitude and appearance
- A positive approach and a “can-do” attitude Ability to work under pressure Flexibility with regards to working hours and patterns of working within a pro cricket environment and a willingness to step outside the role where required A commitment to continuous improvement
Please be aware that SCCC is not in a position to fund this placement and as such students need to meet all their own living and travel costs. SCCC would, however, cover any costs incurred whilst travelling on behalf of the club.
