CRICKET JOBS: Accreditation Officer - ECB (UK)

ECB are seeking to recruit an Accreditation Officer.
Reporting to the Head of Media Operations you will be responsible for the provision of the ECB’s accreditation operation for the domestic and international cricket season in England and Wales.
Through building close working relationships with internal and external individuals and organisations involved in the delivery of the ECB’s matches, accreditation will be issued in accordance with well established working practices and strict timelines.
As part of the ECB Media Operations Team, the successful applicant will be on duty at Major Matches and will establish a presence in the media centre handling operational issues with media and broadcasters, with specific responsibility for accreditation and access matters.
Job Description
Key responsibilities/accountabilities
Accreditation:
- Build and develop accreditation database using established pass production system. Liaise with ECB IT and system supplier to ensure integrity of the database and to implement system upgrades as and when necessary.
- Coordinate the accurate and timely process of application, approval, production and distribution of accreditation for staff, media, broadcasters, sponsors, contractors and officials.
- Produce application forms and related documentation to support the accreditation operation. Adhere to and educate all client groups on the accreditation timelines and processes.
- Design distinct yet functional passes.
Media Operations:
- Attend major match planning and evaluation meetings at venues on behalf of the Head of Media Operations as and when required.
- Ahead of each Major Match communicate with all client groups, particularly media organisations and individuals, to establish accurate match attendance information, entering the information into the accreditation database to ensure entry into venues is permitted on match days.
- Prepare and distribute media operations advisories, with details of match operation arrangements and venue facilities, on a match-by-match basis to accredited media.
- Management of press box facilities including organisation of seating plans, distribution of match information, statistics, programmes etc to all media.
Work with venues and security providers to ensure:
- successful operation of the bar-code access system at venue entrances, and that media, broadcast, players and pitch zones within venues are identified and access managed appropriately through accreditation.
- Oversee access of non-rights holding broadcasters to cover the post-day/match press conference.
- Support other areas of the Media Operations Team’s role within the Event Delivery Team as required.
Key Relationships:
- Internal: Media and Communications Department, Events Department, Commercial Department, IT Department, Team England Administration, Umpires Manager;
- External: Broadcasters, Contractors and Suppliers, ICC ACSU, Media (desk administrators, journalists, photographers and non-rights holders), FCC/Venue Media and Operations Managers
Person specification
- Experience in media or sports event operations preferable
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proven project, account and business management skills, and a working knowledge of standard office software packages and tools
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines and manage high workloads via effective time management and use of resources
- Evidence of ability to apply a clear, logical and coherent approach to complex issues, working collaboratively to develop and implement recommendations for action
- Able to work unsociable hours including weekends during the cricket season
- Strong ability to build and maintain working relationships with internal and external client groups
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
- Highly numerate, good IT skills, detail-conscious and well-organised.
