Established in 1879, Leicestershire County Cricket Club (LCCC) is one of the nation’s 18 first class cricket counties and operates within the sports and entertainment industry. Since September 2014, LCCC has embarked on a period of significant change, resulting in the recruitment of a new Chief Executive, Head Coach and Club Captain - signalling an exciting new era in the history of the club.
Ensuring the players achieve their full potential is critical if the club is to achieve its aspirational vision. To assist with this, LCCC is seeking to appoint an exceptional individual to support the creation of a high performance coaching structure at the club.
LCCC is seeking to appoint an individual for the following role:
Academy Director/Talent Identification Manager
Duration: Permanent
Hours per week: Full Time
Salary: Competitive
Line Manager Position: Elite Performance Director
Location: Normally Grace Road, but as and where required by the Line Manager
SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE
To devise and implement a comprehensive training and match program for the Leicestershire Academy and in conjunction with the Performance Development Coach (PDC) drive and oversee all county age group programs so as to ensure that all talent is identified and able to reach its full potential. The selected individual will also contribute in all facets of skill development with LCCC s 1st team and 2nd teams.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1. To plan, lead and deliver a match program, and ensure an individualised skills programme is in place for each member of Leicestershire’s Academy
2. To successfully record and administer all aspects of the academy program in order to maximise available ECB Performance Related Fee Payments (PRFP) funding
3. To identify and select the academy players for the program, in conjunction with the PDC and Elite Performance Director
4. To contribute and attend player management and strategy group meetings and support the clubs culture and talent identification process
5. To provide extra skill assistance to the 1st XI and 2nd XI as and when required by the Elite Performance Director
6. To actively support the senior squad during pre-season and in season, when available

7. To set up, develop and lead on an elite high performance scouting and nationwide talent identification program - targeting ages 15-27
8. To attend all underage festivals that may contribute to strengthening the LCCC player pool
9. To attend all cricket department coaches meetings
10 To serve as a role model in conjunction with the club values and strategic plans
11 Line manage the LCCC PDC
12 To agree with the Elite Performance Director a county age group structure that supports LCCC’s vision
12. To lead on appointing coaches and managers of all representative teams in conjunction with the PDC
13. To act as a selector on the selection panel and be a central link between the 1st and 2nd teams
14. To establish and implement a partnership strategy with external cricketing organisations that will assist in the talent identification process
15. To have input into player appraisals and provide feedback when required to the Elite Performance Director

Qualifications:
Essential
- ECB Level 3, 4 coaching qualifications
- Current CRB, child protection (safeguarding young people)
Desirable
Played first class cricket Previous coaching experience with specialist skill in batting
