We delve into the realms of sport psychology this week with the first part of our interview with ECB National Lead Psychologist and consultant for Lane4; Dr. Wil James.
Wil spoke to us on a range of topics related to the psychology of playing/coaching club and school level cricket.
It turns out there are some easy ways for any cricketer to improve the way they play by changing the way they think. Listen in to find out more.
(and subscribe to the show as the rest of the interview will be coming up in the next few weeks).
Also, the show would not be the same without our resident first-class coach Gary Palmer chipping in either. This week he extends his range by answering a bowling question.
There is no question section this week, but we do cover a range of topics, including:
- How to shift momentum in your games.
- The best way to maintain pace and accuracy as a bowler.
- How to combine net sessions with mental training to save time.
- Why it's important to add pressure and realism to training sessions.
- How to develop your ability to bat and bowl under pressure.
- How to draw on your experience to become a better cricketer.
